Using two scripts, we will hone our instincts to see what no one else sees, to go deeper and deeper, and to get the scene on our feet without ever “memorizing.” Open to all ages, however we cannot guarantee that there won’t be sensitive contact or strong language. The Laban technique is a profound kinesthetic and emotional tool to get inside different characters' energies, breath/voice, and processes. We will provide a physical warm-up, explore the 8 Action Drives, translate these theatrical tools for the on-camera actor, and actively apply them to character work on camera. Actors in this workshop will walk away with a new understanding of their body/mind connection and how to actively use this in an audition or character development. We'll start by looking at several established actors' Actors Access profiles; we'll cover strategies for headshots, media, and descriptions; structural strategies for resumes and special skills; cover letters; standard auditions for agents; and more.
